For the last 6 months, I have been blessed to have the support of an amazing lady. My coach and mentor, Alison O’Dornan.

Alison helped to guide me through the sale of my practice in Bucks, and the start-up of our two new clinics in Dorset and Hants. Kindly acknowledging the challenges we faced, whilst proactively encouraging me to stay focused on the task in hand.

If you have been forced to work from home and find yourself digressing from your goals, or questioning what will happen in the aftermath of the Coronavirus, I would urge you to reach out for support. Alison, is kind, compassionate and not at all robotic (something I dislike about “coaches”that I’ve talked with in the past). She will listen to your fears and offer sound advice, that you can implement at a speed that works for you. She isn’t pushy or gushingly positive. She’s realistic and present.

I’m sharing this, because I think everyone needs to find someone that they can communicate with about their life goals and dreams. It’s so easy to stay within our comfort zone, but now is not the time. We are dealing with unprecedented times and unprecedented times, means opportunities for change. At one time or another, we have all asked “God” for more time to work on our businesses. More time to spend with our families. Well, now you have it.

The one thing I know about Alison, is that she is full of great ideas and she’s really really smart. In the kind of way that makes me value every minute that I talk to her. She doesn’t just throw sentences back at you, she helps you come up with solutions. In my eyes, this is her USB. I’m not the easiest person to coach, because I read a lot myself and stretch my own skills. I never stop trying and I’m the first to question what and how I could do something better. But, Alison will always come up with a number of take-homes during a session that I just hadn’t considered myself. That I find invaluable. It’s the kind of relationship, I might have had in a corporate environment, but fail to access easily as a small business owner.
